Germany is a country in Central Europe. In the south, the Bavarian plateau extends to the northern mountain ranges of the Alps. The highest point of the country is the Mount Zugspitze (2963 m above sea level). On the border of Germany and Switzerland, the country's largest lake, Lake Constance, through which flows the Rhine, is situated.
